Maintenance, Repair, and Operations in the Rail Transportation Industry
In line with the project to manufacture 150 passenger locomotives in collaboration with MAPNA and Siemens, the maintenance and repair of these locomotives was placed on the agenda of the MAPNA Railway Division, and MAPNA Railway Operation Development and Maintenance Company undertook the responsibility of preserving and maintaining this national asset. The company’s objective is to provide premium maintenance, repair, and operation services for the railway rolling stock. The maintenance project for Iran Safir locomotives is currently underway as the company’s first initiative.
Another project of the company involves the maintenance, repair, and operation of self-propelled passenger railbuses, of which 25 trainsets are currently operating across the national rail network, with this number set to increase to 38 trainsets.
The company’s activities are defined in three domains: locomotive maintenance and servicing, locomotive repairs and overhauls, and equipment supply. To enhance the speed and quality of services provided to the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI), the company has stationed its specialists at all operational points along Iran Safir locomotive routes. Currently, Iran Safir locomotives operating in Mashhad, Neqab, Shahroud, Semnan, Qazvin, Zanjan, Tabriz, Maragheh, Mianeh, Tabas, Isfahan, Yazd, and Bandar Abbas are serviced and maintained by MAPNA Railway Operation Development and Maintenance Company.
In the Railbus project, the company’s specialists operate in Tabriz and Gorgan, providing service support for dispatched runs across routes including Gorgan, Incheh Borun, Pol-e Sefid, Zanjan, Semnan, Garmsar, Qazvin, Takestan, Jamkaran, Qom, Hashtgerd, Van, Tarbiat Moallem University, Tabriz–Razi, Tabriz–Jolfa, Pishva, and Parand, as well as tourist trains across various regions, totaling over 45 daily trips.
